Costa Rica is the first country in Central and South America to become a “Champion” of CNP Advisory Group, the advisory group of City Nation Place, one of the main place branding networks in the world, announced the “Esencial Costa Rica” website.
Through the “Esencial Costa Rica” brand, the country assumed a leadership role in this advisory group that promotes the exchange of ideas and experiences in brand and marketing strategies related to country brands, research and projects related to brands. “It is very much in line with the values of the Costa Rica country brand to support this work,” said Clare Dewhirst, CEO of City Nation Place.
The award was presented last August and work exchanges are currently taking place between “Esencial Costa Rica” and the other brands that are part of this initiative: Brand Tasmania, Destination Cleveland, New Zealand Story, VisitPITTSBURGH, Slovenian Tourist Board, We are Staffordshire and Wasgro.
“Our goal in becoming a Champion is to share the best practices that we have implemented for more than eleven years from our country brand. We believe that these spaces for exchanging knowledge allow us not only to be a reference in these issues but also to learn from the experience of other countries,” shared Adriana Acosta, director of the “Esencial Costa Rica” country brand.
“Costa Rica’s participation in these types of initiatives underlines our commitment to adapt our country brand to the main global trends and to contribute positively to the global community of destination brands,” added Acosta.
City Nation Place is a global initiative that since 2016 facilitates the exchange of best practices in branding and marketing of destinations and country brands, covering areas such as public diplomacy, talent attraction, tourism promotion, destination marketing, promotion of foreign direct investment (FDI) and economic development.
