Experience:

Prior to joining Eproint, Milena worked in the intellectual property for a major Law firm general practice firm in their Honduras and Costa Rica Offices. There she was Director of Intellectual Property and Technology and she led Trademark Area for more than ten years.

As an associate of the Intellectual Property department of the firm in Costa Rica, she deepened her knowledge of the IP operation and internal procedures related to trademarks, patents, and copyrights.

In addition to this, Milena has also worked at another Costa Rican law firm as the exclusive, outsourced lawyer for Bavarian Motors Costa Rica (BMW) and Oxford Motors (Mini Cooper).

She has held the position of Secretary on the Board of Directors of the Association of Intellectual Property Professionals of Costa Rica (APPICR) from 2018 to 2020; the same position that she currently holds in the Honduran Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AHPPI) since 2021.

Milena is one of the first lawyers in Costa Rica to develop Fashion Law, and was a key player within the legal team that advised the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week project.
She has played an active role in the creation of the Honduran Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AHPPI) of which she is currently a member of the board.

Milena is our Director of International Practice, and oversees the preparation and protection of strategies in all areas of Intellectual Property for large multinationals companies.
At a local and international level, she has shown great leadership in matters related to trademarks, patents and copyrights.

  • Specialization in Notarial and Registry Law at the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica (2013)
  • Law degree from the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica (2008)
