The National Office of Industrial Property of the Dominican Republic (ONAPI)
Reported that it has integrated the trademark search tool called TMview, from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), to strengthen search engines to increase the visibility and notoriety of trademarks, aimed at businessmen and entrepreneurs at an international level.
TMview is an online database search engine that makes it easy for Internet users to search for trademarks in all official industrial property offices for free; it is multilingual and easy to use, according to the agency.
It is also used to verify the availability of distinctive signs, discover what competitors protect, allow for the evaluation of market strategies, and provide information to trademark examiners.
The incorporation consists of more than 298 thousand trademarks from ONAPI, which will be updated. Through TMview, the office provides better information and visibility of its trademarks, with 78 participating offices.
The TMview database is drawn from all national intellectual property offices, the European Union (EU) EUIPO, and other recognized non-EU bodies.
